Exploring North Cascades National Park by
Malcolm Slaney and Michele Covell
Dan and Deena Wolens joined us for a trip to North Cascades National
Park at the end of October 1995. We only got to spend two days there,
not nearly long enough to explore such a wonderful park. We saw lots of
rain, but still had a great time.

From July 27 through 31, 1998, my family and I stayed at the Cougar Rock
campground in Mount Rainier National Park. We spent the week hiking some
of the trails around the Paradise and Longmire areas.

Snow Lakes - Leavonworth, Washington Photos
We hiked up to Snow Lakes just outside of Leavonworth, Washington. Had
to wait outside the Ranger Station to obtain a permit. Luckily no one
else arrived. It took us about 5 hours to hike up to the lakes.

Walking through Olympic National Park
I've never seen a rain forest before. I certainly didn't expect to find
one outside the tropics. Olympic National Park is certainly a special
spot. We managed to explore the rain forest on a sunny day, and then the
very next day we were above the snow line.
