Fast-casual dining gets bigger than ever with Market Hall West End.
It’s been a scant fifteen months since Market Halls emerged, pronouncing a bold claim to open three new street food halls in the space of a year. Fast forward to the present day, and they’ve delivered said halls in Fulham and Victoria – and now, they’ve reeled in the biggest fish of the lot with the newly-opened Market Hall West End, which has just scooped the title of the UK’s largest food market.

Why be London’s biggest food hall when you can dream a little bigger, darling? Market Hall West End aimed squarely for the stratosphere, and have delivered a three-storey spot with room for 900 dining guests into our waiting arms, housed inside the former home of BHS. You’d best be hungry when you pitch up, because the food hall contains eleven independent food outlets from some of the biggest names in the London food scene, each one more delicious than the last. As the sweet neon indicates, this is the Stairway To Food Heaven.

The vendors are a mix of heavy-hitters from Fulham and Victoria, further outposts of established restaurants, and new ventures. In the former category are the likes of Malaysian roti canai from Gopal’s Corner and Breddos Tacos spin-off Super Tacos, both of which you can also find in Victoria. New to the Market Halls game are vaunted pasta purveyors Pastaio, and filling jian bing from Soho spot Pleasant Lady, who also run a stand at Old Spitalfields Market.

You’ll also find top vegan eats from Boxpark stalwart CookDaily, carefully crafted Japanese food at Yatau by Angelo Sato, beak-to-tail eating at Good Birds (from the mind behind Flank), and New York-style slices from Paradise Slice Pizza. On top of that, the market will boast four bars, two of which – a tap room and a cocktail lounge – will be on the second floor terrace, beneath a huge retractable roof. Perfect for a spot of summer sipping when the weather improves!
Elsewhere in the market, you’ll find event spaces and, improbably, a TV studio that’ll be used to host video podcasts, interviews, and cooking demonstrations. At this point, I would say “get you a food hall that can do both”, but this place does a lot more than just “both”. Head down now to check it out!
