In my humble opinion, not enough people have dared to combine beer gardens with the finest panoramic views of London.
So, it’s a darn good thing that Alexandra Palace corrected this grievous oversight by bringing back one of last year’s slam dunk hits for summer 2023: The Terrace, a gigantic beer garden perched on their south-facing terrace. Marrying sumptuous views of the capital with all the sun-soaked comforts of the beer garden, it’s a drinking spot that yearns for a place on your must-visit list.
What can I expect at The Terrace (other than stunning views)?
The Terrace opened to great acclaim in 2020, which probably had something to do with the “unbeatable views, some of the city’s hottest street food vendors and a big ol’ pop up bar” – music to our ears.
Covering a whopping 1,500 square metres, The Terrace is one London’s biggest beer gardens, serving everything from craft beers to cocktails, which come from the trusty Oh Santé Cocktails and the Phoenix Bar.
And you didn’t think The Terrace would forget about grub, did you? Food is on hand in the form of stone-fired Neopolitan pizzas, and there’ll be pop-up street food vendors kicking about on weekends as well.
Greece Lightning will have your summer lovin’ sorted with the scrumptious street food; Ice Cream Cab is welcoming in the cool with their trusty cones; and the Pasty Wagon will have you imagining you’re sitting by the coast with their array of pasties.
As always, entry to The Terrace is free, and this year you won’t need to book your spot beforehand to bag your place to catch some rays gratis. Their first big event of the summer season comes in the form of a royal celebration for the big bank holiday weekend bash at The Terrace, so be sure to get down early enough to bag yourself a space.
So, to summarise: free entry, pints on demand, and sweeping views of London. The Terrace is here to turn summer 2023 into one of London’s best yet…
