More France Pictures
This is the second set of pictures from my trip to France in May 1996. I
spent a week at the 5th International WWW Conference, then LG joined me
for two more weeks of being a tourist all over France.
Normandy, March 2002 Photo Gallery by David and
Julie
I'm fuzzy on whether the Somme qualifies as part of Normandy, but in any
case the theme of the trip was old wars. The Somme, of course,
represents all that was bad about WWI. Picture 1 is of one of the
hundreds of (British) Commonwealth graveyards; Commonwealth soldiers
were buried where they had fallen.

Paris Photo Essay by John Hunter, 1998
I visited Paris, France for 4 days in September 1998. Several photos
from that visit are shown below. The photo at the left shows me on top
of the Arc de Triomphe, with the Eifel Tower in the background.

France : with so much to offer and over 77 million visitors in 2003,
France is world's number one tourist destination (and has been for the
past twelve years). Contrasting landscapes, traditions galore, 40000
monuments including 10000 châteaux, abbeys and manor houses, 6000
museums, 1000 festivals... in France it is diversity that holds sway and
the great wealth of its heritage provides remarkable evidence of this.
Pictures of France - Gorges du Verdon by Finn
Møller
Gorges du Verdon is a canyon in the eastern part of Provence. The canyon
was made by the Verdon River, that has carved its way through the rocks.

France offers many different experiences - parisian city-life, high
mountains in the French Alps and the essence of life in Provence. The
pictures here are from my trips to France in 1999, 2002 and 2004.
